As with most countries with iconic wine regions, Spain is often associated with its most well-known exports. But Spain is not a monolith; it's incredibly diverse - in terms of its history, regional cultures, and geography - and the wines produced from all corners of the country reflect that. ¿Por qué no? Selections has worked tirelessly to highlight that diversity, to broaden the perception of Spanish wine beyond Rioja, beyond Cava. They seek out small producers from regions less commonly exported outside of Spain's borders, champion indigenous varieties from across the country, and celebrate the regional traditions that their producers honor and preserve.

Our friend Nick Dazzi from ¿Por qué no? Selections & Alluvial Wines will join us to pour through a lineup highlighting Spain's incredible diversity, from established classics to new favorites from under-the-radar regions: sea-sprayed Albariño from Rias Baixas to unctuous, savory Merseguera from the mountains outside Valencia; lush, plum fruited Rioja (not made from Tempranillo, but instead an incredibly rare variety called Maturana) to beguiling, smokey, saline-laden Tinto from Txakolina in Basque Country; and just about everything in between.
